Station 6 Port Elizabeth had their annual street collection last weekend and as usual had a great time while raising R37 314.They kicked their 24 collection hour period off at 19h00 on Friday night and “hit everything that moved,” says Daniel Heimann.“ If we stop at a robot on our way someone hopped out and got a few rands. We go crazy ... everyone dresses up and we go to every pub and restaurant we can think of.”As wild and as much fun the Friday night is, so is the formal collection on Saturday serious. The crew ( “ about 30 of us,” says Daniel ) dress in the uniform and then rattle the tins all over Friendly City. The most money collected by individuals was done by : Kevin Warren R4 915, Warwich Haywards R4 452 and Stephen van den Berg R2 727.
