A small group of Sea Rescue volunteer Survival Swimming instructors upskilled the basic swimming ability of 24 children at the Sea Point pavilion on Saturday.

It was great to watch this new category of NSRI volunteer at work. Seeing instructors and students break into huge smiles when the student mastered a new swimming skill was priceless.

Thanks to the Sea Point Pavilion staff and the Friends of the Sea Point Pavilion as well as the Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco whose Foundation in South Africa is working with us to make it possible to teach swimming survival skills for free.
