Yzerfontein took part in the annual International Beach clean up day on the 3rd Saturday in September. It is the 25th event and happens world wide. In 2009 more than 490 000 volunteers from over 180 countries took part. South Africa had 7832 people participating.Deputy station commander, Rudi Rogers led 25 children from Darling and Yzerfontein and cleaned the beach of all the rubbish. Well done Rudi and the gang!
