Congratulations to Verusca Conradie, the winner of the NSRI’s highly-anticipated August R100 000 cash prize draw.
When Durbanville resident Verusca Conradie received a call on Monday 15 August
notifying her that she was the lucky winner of the R100 000 NSRI draw, she thought it was a scam, and said as much to her husband.
Then she hopped online and saw that, indeed, the NSRI did award cash prizes to donors on a monthly basis. “I didn’t even know that there was a prize – I was just donating monthly because I believe in the work that the NSRI does! I was shocked. And, obviously, very happy.”
This fact makes Verusca – who’d been donating to the NSRI via monthly deposits for just under a year – an even more deserving winner, as she says many of her friends are NSRI volunteers and she respects the incredible work they do.
The mom of three runs a mechanical business with her husband, and they recently launched another business: “This money couldn’t have come at a better time. To celebrate, I took the family out for dinner, and we’ve invested the rest.”
The NSRI gives away R10 000 to five lucky donors each month, with three opportunities to win R100 000 in April, August and December.
