Police Search and Rescue are continuing in an ongoing search for a 17 year old male who went missing at Scottburgh Beach on Saturday, 11 March.

SCOTTBURGH:

Linda Putter, NSRI Rocky Bay duty controller, said:

On Sunday NSRI Rocky Bay and Scottburgh Municipal lifeguards assisted Police Search and Rescue in their ongoing search.

NSRI Rocky Bay was activated at 13h46 on Saturday following reports of a drowning in progress at Scottburgh Beach in rough sea conditions.

Scottburgh Municipal lifeguards had initiated a search. An NSRI Rocky Bay rescue vehicle and NSRI Rocky Bay rescue swimmers responded. The SA Police Services and Police Search and Rescue were alerted.

An extensive search revealed no sign of the teenager.

Thoughts are with the family of the teenager in this difficult time.
