The day that we announced the IMO award on our website and Facebook we got a phone call from a very excited volunteer. She said she would like to pay half of each of the 3 air tickets. She felt that it could just as easily have been her on one of the rescue boats that night and she would love to “be part of ensuring that the guys can go to London to receive their awards”.The money is her inheritance from her mom who died earlier this year. She would like to remain anonymous, but she can’t wait to see the photos and hear about the trip.We all feel very humbled by her incredible kindness. What a fantastic organisation we belong to !If you are able to help fund the trip to London for Attie Gunter, Leon Pretorius and Quentin Diener, of the rescue boat Queenie Paine based at Witsand, to collect their awards, on 26 November 2012, please contact Meriel merielb@searescue.org.za or 021 434 4011
