On Saturday the 2nd of November 2019 our NSRI Station 18 Melkbosstrand Lifeguards had their annual paddle out to commemorate the life of Joshua and all those who have lost their lives at sea. This has since become a tradition for the start of Lifeguarding season.A week before official Lifeguard duty in November 2017, the public had made them aware of a drowning down at the beach, but unfortunately Joshua, a 14 year old boy could not be found.
