After we competed at the lifesaving masters, our younger team joined up in Port Elizabeth to compete in the senior/junior division. Our Jeffreys Bay and Melkbosstrand lifeguards competed over a stretch of three days with station 37, JBay, competing for the very first time. We wouldn't be Sea Rescue if we didn't set an example for safety, so for the first time ever in a lifesaving competition, two of our lifeguards: Inge de Keyzer and Dehann Theron competed in a Ski race wearing a pfd ( personal flotation device), we are so proud of our lifeguards and the example they set in safety, as well as the massive amount of dedication they showed over the past week.Melkbosstrand lifesaving unit placed 20th in the Junior position as well as 11th in the senior division. Jeffreys Bay placed 21st in the senior division and 26th in the junior division.
